I painted Grow shortly after moving to New York City. It was a time of uncertainty, change, and, ultimately, growth. In my desire to communicate the effort growth requires I turned to the sunflower for inspiration. Since they always grow facing the sun, sunflowers remind me that if I’m turned towards God while I struggle to change, I’ll grow closer to Him.
